  • Crimson in the class with rusty edges. A tingling and intriguing nose of peppermint and menthol. Thinning and somewhat tart on the palate showing drying, maybe souring, red cherry fruit. Tannins are there but are friendly and still provide appropriate structure. Mint chocolate love letters, copper, easygoing rust, and iron notes. All tertiary and very pleasant.

  • The nose showed tired notes of cherry, soil, moist fall leaves and undergrowth. On the palate, it was medium-bodied with a heightened perception of acidity, dried floral tones, moist fall leaves, soil tones and long-dried cherry. Soil notes lingered on the palate with a hint of dried meat. Possibly a bad bottle, or maybe just a wine that’s too far past its peak.
