Quick decant, this has cherry and wood in the nose while the palate is savory to start off with and moves into more of fruit forward aspect with time in the glass. Lighter in body, with a medium length finish.

Pinotpalooza (Carriageworks, Redfern): Smells a little dense, dusty black over red fruit, slight stalks, sweet spice. Fruit and tannins have good balance, this is more fresh than juicy, tannins are quite silky, slightly drying. A good entry level wine.

It's a fairly easy drinker but stands up to quite a lot of meats without being too light. Classic red fruits, cherries, medium finish.

2 weeks in Australia with a stopover in Singapore; 6/14/2019-7/1/2019 (Singapore, Sydney, Adelaide, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills): Tasted at the winery. Alongside the '17 vintage, this one is far more fruit forward without the spiciness that I liked in the '17. My general impression here was one of sweet red fruit. Not for me.

Return to Aus; 6/23/2019-7/5/2019 (Adelaide, South Australia wine regions, Tassie, Yarra, etc.): Again a bit more savory in nature. Maybe some darker fruits here. It's a lot of herb and earth and maybe a bit of just green. Easy drinker.
