Tried this Heathcote Shiraz back to back with a John Duval Entity Shiraz from the Barossa. Both wines are roughly the same price and were both 2017 vintages. They both displayed strong fruit flavour. The Barossa wine had a smoother finish and showed a little more finesse

Initially closed but by second day had blossomed- On the nose there is fresh cucumber, raspberries and subtle hints of iron? Palate is packed full of jammy berry fruits, and like all other vintages- beautifully textured. Silky smooth. Long pleasant finish. Utterly enjoyable.

Nose shows strong oak: vanilla with a hint of miso. Feels like there’s a lot of fruit on the nose, too, but it’s quite closed. Palate shows massive oak, with flavours of bourbon, vanilla, and toasted grains. The oak is backed by jammy fruit flavours of raspberry, blackcurrant, and quince.
