Deep purple. Vigorous decant. Initially quite closed. Opened up over a few hours. Ripe Heathcote Shiraz nose with evident oak. Plum to black cherry. Rich fruit matching the nose with lifted oak, showing its 24 months in hogsheads. Some harshness on the finish. Shows some heat from the 15.1 alcohol. Overall, very well made, though I find the style overpowering, over the top. Not one for my cellar.

Nose of raspberry, cassis, and mint. Powerful structure, with a good balance of strong tannin and strong acidity. Heavy mouthfeel, but clean finish. Flavours of blackberry, charcoal, and black pepper.
