  • No decanting

First impression from first half of the bottle

    The nose:
Red berries like strawberry, raspberry, cherry. Fruit forward to sniff. A little New oak on the side.

    The palate:
Same from the nose, red berries and fruit forward. Kind of like a fruitball, pure juice. New oak and a feeling of a windy day, at the vineyards.
Overall seems to be a much lighter style then burgundy.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Second impression from the second half of the bottle, two hours later

    The nose:
Fruit forward with blackberry, black cherry, raspberry. No oak to smell. A lot of thyme and basil on the nose, with tomato.

    The palate:
Same from the nose, although the fruit is more secondary. I really get that tomato, basil and thyme with the first zip, along with black fruits.
Now it comes more closer to medium body then light body, but the acidity is almost not present, so very silky as well.

I had a bottle in 2021 and it came out as impression number one, so it's clearly developed after two years.

It is a light style wine and does appear a bit different from what you would expect of this wine, or even what you normally drink.

I do like it and the last bottle of mine, is going to be opened among friends, just to see their reaction to it.

    I'm 94 Points.

  • Mediterranean Islands Tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose medium intensity, with aromas of raspberry jam, roasted nuts, caramel creme brulee, tobacco. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12%), fine high tannins, full body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of thick raspberry, red berries, sweet raisins, cranberries, roasted nuts and cinnamon spice with tobacco wood. Long finish.
Very good quality. Very unique wine. Unsure about its ageability. Seems like on the cusp of oxidation already.
    100% Callet varietal.

  • The nose is assertive - this is a wine that means business - with blackberry, raspberry, red capsicum, burnt sugar, brandied raisins, nutmeg, cigar ash. It is just outstanding to drink. Complex. Unique. Delicious.

  • Have tried most of the vintages, since the 2014 vintage this is made 100% from the autochthonous Callet grape, the style changed from fruit driven more full bodied to a finesse like bottling,
very herbal nose and aromas of asian spice, some slightly red fruit too,
on the palate very tight still, herbal and very fine elegant flow, ripe red delicate berry, good deepness here, very good length, a wine without pronounced fruit concentration or barrel treatment, balance and elegance are the main attributes! **(*- ?), around 90(+)
