  • Popped and poured. My experience was quite a bit different than the other notes here.

I found this to be quite ripe, dense, but most surprisingly, dominated by dark fruit, not red. There really wasn’t much of the finesse or ethereal characteristics I tend to find in Mugnier’s wines. I was prepared for some impact from the warm vintage, but I wasn’t expecting this. The JFM wine this reminded me the most of was the 2009 Marechale. Not bad by any means but not what i look for in Mugnier.

Of course, perhaps it was an off bottle or its in a strange phase, or maybe it would have come around with more time.

  • Opened at Les Climats in Paris. P&P and enjoyed over dinner.

I was worried that this wouldn't be open for business, but it was too tempting to pass up. I'm very glad that we went for it - this was gorgeous and only got better with air and time in the glass.

Classic Chambolle nose of red fruits, coupled with Mugnier's charm and elegance. Quite a precise wine and impressive for a village (even though there is some declassified 1er juice in it).

Mugnier's Chambolle village remains one of my all time favourites for just sitting back and having a great time. This is no exception and beautifully showcases the elegance of Chambolle. There is definitely upside if you want to wait, but if you can't - enjoy!

  • Honestly, not anywhere near worth the price of entry. Nose was muted. Palate was light red cherries and strawberries.. all of the complexities were extremely subtle but not in a particularly poetic way.. slight mint and soil and stone.. I've had several better wines in the last few weeks alone that cost a third or less of the price that were more fascinating by far.. it's not that the wine is bad it should just be $65.. I just looked at the secondary market and it seems far more insane than what I tried, even

  • Highly aromatic, intense berry and flower garden perfumed nose, with hints of grape jam and seeet herb. Palate was a bit closed yet still showed violet and purple flower. High toned finish.
