  2022 Excellent Burgundy Adventure; 10/31/2022-11/6/2022 (Burgundy): Very youthful medium expressive nose displaying pure concentrated red fruit, strawberry rhubarb pie, cranberry, sap, leather, grilled cep, dark spices and iron. Very refined palate, layers upon layers of youthful pure red fruit, exceptional precision, finesse and detail, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, fine tannins and a long youthful concentrated red fruit driven finish with iron at the end. A textbook example of iron fist in velvet glove.

  Is it a crime to open? So much better wine than 19 Roumier Chambolle villages which I have had twice at below expectations. First impression is its seamlessness. Very unusual to find a young Roumier BM that is so accessible, sweet, heated but also packed and substantial. With air it revealed classic purple fruit, vanilla, light meatiness; rich, coiled and textured. So much here but in perfect balance, which, again, are not two characteristics that go hand-in-hand when a wine that is so young. I think it has the potential to be legendary, and I shall confirm if I happen to have more bottles in thirty years of time. 96++ (96-98)
