From magnum. A deep core of black cherry, dark plum, bark, and burnt citrus rind set off a slightly rustic push of moderately intense flavors on the fruit-forward attack that drops deeply into a nice mid-palate cruise and finishes with a soft cascade of rolling earth and berry notes. Decent freshness, though the delivery is a bit slower and more advanced due to some mature and ripe flavors. Drink now, especially if you have .750s of these - which may be already on the latter half of life.
This is an unusually rich, ripe wine from Littorai, befitting the vintage I suppose. Dark, relatively opaque color. Rich, sweet blackberry fruit, a hint of appleskin that a lot of AV pinot has, plenty of baking spices. The fruit profile is riper and sweeter than I'd like, but this still has good acidity and refined, velvety tannic structure -- at age 13 it is still quite primary and undeveloped, holding up very well, and with a few hours of air, the structure firms up and nicely balances out the sweet fruit, although with that odd sweet/tart yin/yang that makes me suspect acidification. Although not my preferred style, this is certainly a well executed take on a ripe CA vintage; it's miles from syrupy or overblown or alcoholic. I understand the CT raves -- those who like their PN just a little riper and sweeter than me would really enjoy this.

A bit past it’s prime but still a beautiful bottle of Pinot.

A bit past its peak, but still has plenty of fruit. A beautiful, elegant wine.
