It is amazing how polarizing these wines are. A few people hated this, poured back the wine into decanter. This is classic Cayuse. Beyond funky, with bbq smoke, bacon fat, and a stringent after taste. Classic. This was decanted for about 6 hours and needed it all. The fruit is still really nice and a solid mid palate structure. I would wait for another 5-6 years min.

Not as Atomic as I anticipated, but surely a big bomb 💣 in a positive way! Dark purple burgundy color.Powerful Syrah that has a bit of austerity and slight bitterness.. black fruit, pomegranate, raspberry, fig, and slightly burnt caramel. In fairness to Cayuse I only gave it a brief decant and it needed a good couple of hours. Not to mention I believe that I m drinking it young. 2 more bottles in cellar., I’ll give them a good 4 years before trying again. Went well with ribeye cap steak at Strip Steak in LV. Has potential I believe…

Dinner at Isnin. Drank in Grassl Cru. 2nd day sample from Tim. Superb! Appearance deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of spicy ripe stems, thick sweet spice and sap, molten black cherries, blackberries, black pepper. Developing. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.4%), medium+ tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of thick sweet sap and spice, ripe stems, blackberries, black cherries. Long peppery finish. Very very good quality. Big thick concentrated Syrah goodness but doesn't have any of that New World jamminess like some high end Barossa Shiraz. Should be even more complex in another 4-5 years, and doesn't really need more than 10 years.

8+ decant drank over 2 hours
Tight on the first glass served at 18c - as it unfolded and gained temp it became a gorgeous bomber.

Had it decanting for good 4h and drank over 2+h
Very linear tight elegance, not boisterous rather restrained.
My SQN loving brother in wine, is not convinced - I do rather like it personally and it took the night over 4 other bottles easy.
