This is classic hunter shiraz!! Fragrant and spicy nose; great depth although not too heavy; great balance and ripe tannins. Should age well. Great QPR+++

On opening this was ridiculously reductive so I decided to splash decant it...this didn't do much so I repeated this exercise four more times. At that point it started to show plums over blackberry, muted sweet spice with an underpin muted cedar and jubey black fruits. On the palate it has softly acidity, savoury black fruits and wonderfully persistent, drying, cats tongue rasp tannins. Obviously a puppy but this is rather pleasant. Yum yum.
over the course of consumption the wine starts to show fresh brambles, blueberry and fruit tea. The other characteristic that comes through is that it is so 'unworked'...there is a sense of fruit and, for want of a better word, 'terroir' in this wine. Pretty damn fine.

Hunter Whistlestop 2020 #2 (Hunter Valley): Blackberry with red berries; raspberry, tiny touch of almost ash. Surely not whole bunch? And a jubey quality as well . Sweet spice and a little cream. Juicy, savoury fruit just the right side of sour for me tannins are slightly grainy though persistent. Surprisingly elegant. Lovely.

Raw and unevolved but with great potential - a wine of harmony. Boysenberry, cherry, spice, lavender, stony acidity which is in all these 2018 Mountain wines. Savoury, peppery we’ve too. Fantastic and will live a long time.
