  • SangioFest, Volume III "It's my favourite spot" (Chicago, IL): Just not a wine that should be opened anytime soon. A big, burly structure that feels very unyielding and stern, despite the delicious, bright red fruit on the nose and palate. It feels a little clumsy right now, but there's clearly plenty of material that just needs time to fully express itself. Impressive for its stature and potential right now.

  • A very nice wine, but not a transcendent one, nor quite justifying the price. Shimmering, ripe, delicious red fruit and a healthy kick of acidity despite the vintage made for a delightful wine to drink, but I didn't see anything on offer that you couldn't have got from (e.g.) Potazzine Brunello.

  • 3 hour decant

Big, rich and bright aromas of chocolate, anise, bright red fruits. Palate starts our dry, with limited weight on mid palate but long young finish. Bigger, warmer and bolder than this wine is in its better vintages; will try again in a year.

  • Opened for 30 minutes. Color is translucent ruby. On the nose: Kirsch, rose, strawberry and some licorice. On the palate: Kirsch, rose, orange zest and licorice . Can feel the tannins a bit on the finish. Nice acidity. Decent length. Very young , needs more time to open up… but this is really a beautiful wine. The flavors are really beautiful. I have had this wine (different vintage) on Lake Como before at dinner and I am transported back there right now. I would give this a few years to age but really worth a try.
