Definitely lost the youthful, grapey vibe from a few years ago, thankfully, but what an unusual, interesting nero d'avola here—light, bright, with only 11.5% alc. Medium ruby; clear. Smells like wet rocks, dark fruits, light funk. Light body, high acid, medium (+) finish, with flavors of high toned red fruits, lemon, orange, and minerals. I actually really like the cut of this wine's jib. 90+

Purplish ruby color. Smells like darker (black and dark red) fruits, graphite, concord grape, and crushed rocks. Light to medium body, medium acid, medium (-) finish, and overall lighter presence and constitution, with grapey flavors and black cherry, raspberry, bit of lemon and orange, and some minerals. 11.5% alc., which is nice, but this is rather soft and lacking. Definitely for lighter fare—here's your red to pair with poultry or fish. Doesn't strike me as a particular ager, but I might give my other another year or so to lose some of that baby grape vibe.

2018 Cos Nero Di Lupo- nose of raspberry. More like assortments of berries. Light entry almost feels weak. Comes to live mid palate. Mid palate tannins. Long finish. Medium body. Overall, good wine. The nose promises more robust palate that isn’t quite there. Still young. Maybe time will tell. 7.5/10

Maybe not as good as previous vintges. A bit thin. Though the problem might have been in drinking it after a Chianti Classico.
