  Medium(-) ruby, watery rim, fast-moving tears. Medium aromas of red fruit, dried leaves, and white pepper. Dry, high acidity, low tannin, medium alcohol and medium body. Palate of cranberry, red berry, strawberry, savory flavors of mushrooms, earth. Structured, crunchy texture but misses material/gravity. Good length with almost racy finish with tannins finally emerging.
  Improves over the evening as it gains complexity and weight.

  Plum and pen ink on the nose. On the palate, black cherry, plum, and notes of cranberry and vanilla oak on the medium finish, with light tannins and moderate to strong acidity. This was a good value at a little over $35. It should age for several years yet.
