Gawd I live Germany! Great qpr! Bright, zappy and lively. A bit too light-bodied and structured on the palate to be outstanding but the nose certainly is!

A village-level Pinot Noir made from the grapes of 30-yo vines. Extended maceration time of whopping 40 days. Aged in barrique barrels, of which 20% are new. 13,5% alcohol, 1 g/l residual sugar and 5,6 g/l acidity.
Luminous, translucent raspberry color. Bright, pure and attractive nose with expressive aromas of crushed red and black forest berries, sour cherries, ripe raspberries, lingonberries, some peppery spice, a little earthy Pinosity and a hint of herbal greenness with a faint undercurrent of dark-toned oak spice. Dry, pure and focused palate with quite light body. Very intense, vibrant and even a bit wild flavors of fresh red cherries, earthy spice, tart lingonberries, some crushed peppercorns and a hint of sour cherries. The structure is remarkable, almost Barbaresco-like with high, racy acidity, slight mineral bitterness and pronounced, almost Nebbiolo-like tannins. Only the slightest touch of brooding, dark oak aromatics in the background. Really lovely, long and pure finish with pronounced, grippy tannins and flavors of tart cranberry-and-lingonberry-driven cool-climate Pinosity, sour cherry, some earth, a little peppery spice, a touch of bitterness and hints of chalky minerality.
Good lord, this must be not only the greatest Spätburgunder I've tasted, but also one of the most spectacular Pinot Noirs I've ever had: incredible intensity, purity of fruit, focus and structure paired with infinitely attractive, vibrant and a bit wild flavors and aromas. In its current condition the wine is very tightly wound, almost aggressive, with its grainy, angular tannins, giving it a character very similar to a really young Barbaresco or similar Nebbiolo - wine with delicate lightness, high acidity, remarkable intensity and pronounced tannins. The structure gives much promise for cellaring potential, so I want to see how the wine ages; luckily I still have one bottle left. Stunning value at only 15€. Very highly recommended.

Had this in a restaurant with a goose menu. Classic pinot noir with good fruit and minerality. Liked it.

caramel on the nose touch of new oak here
Quite prominent oak, not too much though, it's nice and savoury
Full body with some tannin
