Monthly Tasting Group HWS #051; TOP Australia. (by EvA): Beautiful and elegant bouquet with red and black fruits, smoky oak and a little menthol. On the palate mainly red fruits. Good balance between sweetness and acidity. Full bodied, but also elegant. Long finish with cherry liqueur chocolates. Still youthful 4 - 5+ years will be no problem. Very good qpr.

Opened and had a quick glass. On the nose - I get serious smoke (like you just put out a campfire) and tobacco. Very little fruit. Initial taste - I got a lot of oak and tobacco with some plum. DECANTED for 2+ hours. I've never had a wine benefit so much from decanting. Nose - very aromatic; the smoke is gone, I still get tobacco, chocolate, cassis, and red currant. Taste - very smooth and complex. The tobacco, chocolate, and cassis flavours follow from the nose to the palate. Tannins are still strong. This held up over 2 days
