Blind at Anita: Medium pale yellow; Fresh, minty, green and yellow apples, intense minerality, a touch of reduction that added lovely complexity to this; intense, still zingy, concentrated, long long finish. Heads and tales above 1er cru DeMontille, Jadot, Mikulski, Lambrays, Pierre Morey in this tasting. Wish I had more. This should be good for another 5-10 years.

Darker than the 93 Leflaive PM Combottes served alongside. Advanced, but not fully poxed. White flowers, honey on nose. Rich, lush palate...some melon. Drink up.

Reticent nose first of lemon zest, tea, rocks and subtle dried herbs or slight floral aspect, this opened up slightly to reveal serious rocky mineral character; mouth is silky, fairly weighty, and pure wet rocks and limestone minerals and even apricot pit; like chewing on gravel, this wine had a touch of chalky tanniins too, with a long mineral laden finish. Not at the height of its powers, I would try again in 3-4 years, but clearly has the staying power for much longer.

(Niellon Michel Chassagne-Montrachet Clos de la Matroye) Medium-pale yellow. The nose starts deep with plenty of fresh bread and sweet pear, slowly tightens and becomes higher toned. The palate is fat and full - almost grand cru ‘oily’ - with super acidity, and penetrating intensity that bursts with lime/citrus fruit. Considerable yet understated length that shows just a hint of cream. In one word; excellent.
