  This was lovely stuff, just a little too advanced and nutty and dark for my preference (with Chassagne-Montrachet whites, anyway). 1998 was not a year for late-term drinking so in that regard at least this was impressive and worth drinking but I wonder if the same wine from more lively years might be a bit more complex, refreshing, bright. I just felt the age had hidden too much of what makes C-Ms so mesmerizing, but without being premoxed or too old, if that makes sense. Aim for younger vintages for sure.
