  • Old vines plot. Slightly ripe nose of cherry and raspberry fruit. Good freshness and balance. The fruit is sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Easy to drink. Lovely wine.

  • Ruby red color with a little tiny bit of haze.

The nose is very effusive and enticing with raspberry, red cherry, a little baking spice, and a sprinkle of licorice root.

Nice restraint on the build of this wine, yet it doesn't lack anything in the way of flavor intensity. Bright and cutting to the palate throughout, it glides down with all the red fruits from the nose plus a little cola note - all leading to a long mouth-watering finish.

There is a very classical sensibility to this wine. It's not going to bowl you over and wow you with a roller coaster of flavors and fireworks. It's simple, supple, precise, understated. It gets under your skin and stays there.

I can tell that this is the type of wine that will develop very nicely with some time in the cellar. It's going to need probably four or five years minimum if not seven or eight to really get there. At that point the mid palate will really fill out and I'm sure it will become much more of a punchy drinking experience. But it will also peel back and reveal some of the earth complexities that are simmering underneath the surface. I recommend grabbing a couple of these and checking back in 2028.

92 points today, but with the clear potential to climb up into the mid-90s with some time.
