The wine contains 10% whole bunch & is aged 12m in 25% new French oak. From the oldest vines in Martinborough
Its been 12 months since I has tasted this wine , not a lot has changed. I was a little shy on opening but opened up with aeration and time. better on day 2
Colour deep ruby pink to clear edges crimson hues 15/15 Nose A fantastic, complex and seductive aroma of red cherry, spice, smoky, tobacco and earth. Responds well to aeration 28/30 Palate med bodied , Perfectly balanced, an elegant and beguiling structure of tannin and fruit and a long, complex and layered finish. A little bit of heat on the finish but it’s only 13.5% alc , silky acidity 42/44 Overall It’s been a couple of year since I’ve had one of these pinots , If you can resist drinking it, the wine will develop and improve over 10 years 10/11
