Decanted. Huge initial nose. Like blueberry pop tarts. Maple syrup-blueberry roasted duck stock reduction, teaberry gum, opens to roasted meat. Big wine. Great finish.

NR - Opened my last bottle. Didn't turn out very well. Had this wine before a couple of times but couple of years back and it was very good. However, this last bottle was not. Perhaps it was passed its time or flawed bottle.

90-91. Drinking nicely, but still tight day 1. Got better with air. Fruit has mellowed, but nice oakville character and pencil lead component. Didn't do as well day 2 (sub 90). I would decant this and drink on day 1. Nice.

91 points. Very good merlot. Wasn't that great at open, but filled out a bit with half an hour of air. Peak drinking now. Drink or hold another year or so. Tastes much like a strong oakville merlot should, maybe like a plumpjack. Bright cherry fruit, perfect oaking, some subtle complexity. Pretty compelling. Only the medium bodied weight and lack of that extra layer of complexity limit the score. Well made with silky sweet tannins.
