This bottle was cellared for several years which didn’t help. It had a touch of brettanomyces which may have further developed during the cellaring. I suspect the producer encourages it to give his wines complexity, especially if the fruit is poor, but the unsuspecting consumer suffers later. The bottle was drinkable at this level but clearly this is not a wine for keeping. The wine may be ok when fresh so other comments might be more informative.

Maybe me but this is exceedingly sweet for a brut. Aside, it lacks distinctive flavors, and though I perceive some 'toast', doesn't add much. Loving champagne, favorites Bollinger Spec Cv and Lancelot Royer Cv d' Chevaliers (to self identify for 2 different affordable wines), I'm giving up the long quest for inexpensive champagnes. This was Costco $23, OK for $$$ but less than the odd shaped bottle Cazanove Brut different label. Question as to drinking the rest tomorrow, I doubt it. With a long history of experimenting for wines (R&D blood), this one was a whiff. (Did not drink it.)

It was a pleasant champagne. I’d buy it again.

CCT Burgundy Dinner (Daley's on Yates, Schenectady, NY): I only had a taste of this, but it was pretty nice.

Retail $35. 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier, 10% Chardonnay. I should have bought more at $23. Similar notes.
