Ripe red fruits in the still somewhat reticent bouquet. On the palate a good concentration and some dark chocolate. Good fresh acidity, elegant and subtle. Reading my previous notes, this seems to be a completely different wine. I'm puzzled, but tonight it really showed well.
Given that this is a decent declassification of Barolo from a great producer, it definitely fell short of expectations- which were already low from what I had read about this wine. Short finish and weak fruit content. The structure of the wine is good though, acidity, tannins and alcohol integration was all fine. I decanted for 1.5h hoping this would open up but not really.
