Tasting yet another fine wine from Clos de Gat which is a Bdx blend of CS, Merlot an PV, aged for 18 months in new FR oak. Deep garnet colour. Medium+ intensity aroma of black cherries, liquorice, cassis, earth, chocolate, tobacco, tar, herbs. Full body, quite concentrated with medium intensity of ripe sweet fruits, plums, cassis, chocolate, toast, medium light acid, medium tannins.

Opened up nicely after 1-2 hours. Purple hue, very dominant oak, some red fruits, notable acidity, medium+ tannins. Ready to drink but could age a few more years.

Cloudy red with shades of purple and brown (quite unique). Medium body. Medium acidity. Low tanines. Started as mildly aromatic, black and red fruits, then many other aromas are developing while it is open and in the glass and it starts to become very aromatic, mixture of every possible aroma related to wine. Same on the palate... a unique mixture with endless flavors and sub flavors. Oak, black fruits, red fruits, spices, aging flavors and more. Rich, complex, unique, authentic, what more can one asks for?

Showing some age at the rim, ruby with garnet inflections; nose is a little strange, something slightly spiced? Some roasted pepper too; nice weight, good texture but that pepper note is there again. A paradox, ripe yet with something quite unripe hidden here too. Perplexing.
