I'm sure this is great for some, found it a bit one-noted with bright tart raspberry-lemon acidity for my taste. Will be curious to see if 2nd bottle is more like the appealing WE95 TN.

Pop and pour consumed over a 2 hour meal, dark garnet-purple color with such density. Immediate aromas of blackberry pie, raspberry preserves and just hints of the peppery spice. The brightness of the nose continues to the palate and is highlighted by gorgeous additional dark plum and other fruits on the mid-palate. Stayed full-bodied, rich and spicy across the night, but a quality of youth at this point. The palate is firm with meaty tannins while remaining fresh throughout. These supple tannins infused with oak allow a finish of white pepper and a lingering fruit cake note. . Think the group was happy with my choice of this lively old vine zinfandel. Long familiar with the Hartford label, but really haven’t had too many of the offerings, this was an excellent reintroduction. This entry level offering appellation blend is from five vineyard-designated sites, all old vine, dry farmed and low yielding.
Beautifully balanced. Dark fruits and pepper/spice on the nose. Fruit jumps out again on the palate, but with an unexpected food-friendly acidity. Paired with pesto and it was a good pairing!

Beautiful raspberry aromas on the nose. Blackberries, raspberries, bright and full on the palate. Gorgeous on the mid-palate with dark fruits and pepper notes. Elegant tannins, great acidity and impeccable balance. Finishes bright and bracing. Lovely classic Zinfandel. Will drink at this level for another 4 to 5 years, perhaps longer.
