  • Clear and pale lemon color, very bright. Multifaceted fruit and florals on the nose - candied red pear, passion fruit, nectarine, orange blossom and honeysuckle, with hints of allspice and ginger. Plush, off-dry & ripe tangerine and pear on the palate, richly layered with secondary jasmine and mineral. Round and rich, lifted with bright integrated acid, broad and lengthy on the finish.

  • White peach, pear, spices and lemon on the nose. Nearly medium bodied (9.5% ABV) with white peach upfront, moving to yellow peach, pineapple and other mixed tropical notes through the middle. Some richness and a touch of sweetness behind along with acidity, spices and tart notes. The fruit is already quite expressive, but with enough acidity for it to seem fresh. Shows better on the cooler side to bring out the acidity to match the depth of fruit. Next bottle for me, Q1 2024.

  • Lunch at Jade Court (Chicago, IL): #15-20, 9.5% abv. I've been quite enjoying how the 2019 lower Prädikat wines have been showing, and this fits the theme nicely. Lovely herbal aromatics with some tart tropical notes. Relatively light on its feet, but with classic Mosel minerality. An outstanding value -- the Zeltingen-Rachtig wines from Selbach-Oster have always been the sweet spot.

  • Mid lemon. Beautiful minerally nose of wet slate along with citrus and a floral element. Not much TDN at this stage. Unctuous on the palate with medium sweetness and high acidity to counterbalance the sugar. 9.5% ABV. A delight to drink now but will develop further complexity over the next 10-20 years. Beautiful wine from a great vintage. Great match for spicy Cantonese dishes tonight.
