Nose: Grape skins, ripe raspberry and dark currants, floral notes and dark soil; on day two, the nose shifts a bit toward darker fruit with chalky dark currants and ripe blackberries. Palate: Earthy currants that are integrated nicely with wood; nice mouthfeel that is light and lively on the palate finishes with a nice floral component mixed with some souring plum; lightly prickly tannins and some bitterness. On day three, this wine continues to improve with no discernible oxidized flavors, which to me suggests it has a long life ahead of it and good potential for significant improvement over the years.

Elegant well balanced graphite laden Bordeaux that makes an excellent food wine at this stage and will become more floral with time. Should be in the right spot in 10 years. Drink as you wish...

Momentary rating. Very tannic, needs time to develop. Oak, blackcurrant, plum. Promising.

Union des Grands Crus: Blueberry and clay, tannic but balanced. If not particularly impactful, pleasant and cool. 88-90
