1975 and 1985 Bordeaux (Dan & Mila's place): Mildly corked. Seemed to have a nice roundness to it with some decent fruit and aromas, but couldn't quite get past the off aroma. Again, the host said it got better the next day, but couldn't compete with the Beychevelle.

Only God knows how they were able to make wine before "The Emperor" showed them the way. Andy brought the bottle as a "dark horse", the gift from his boss. Looking at a light bulb through the bottle left very little doubts that the bottle will be good, the deep barely see through dark red color doesn't lie. The pour in the thimble confirmed the good storage, but the wine appeared thin. By the time the bottle made it to the table (Brad cooked risotto while the bottle was sitting opened) it gained lots of power and rewarded us all with genuine "pre-parker" Bordeaux experience. My WOTN and not just because the wine was sticking out as the only Bordeaux at the Burgundy night.

Good nose, but the fruit was pretty much gone - it wasn't bad, but wish we had enjoyed it ~5 years ago
