We bought six bottles of this maybe 4-5 years ago, and have tried a bottle here and there, and I’ve enjoyed the savory leathery dark, slightly rustic notes but thought I had been overly optimistic in purchasing 6 bottles. This time I feel like we hit the jackpot. Yes, still savory, still leathery, yet balanced and gamy at the same time. This has a very particular taste that may not appeal to everyone, but for people who like northern Rhone Syrah, it was delightful.

Improving from several years ago, but still very crozes like to me. Strong lacritz streak is somewhat of a turn off. Tastes like a good German burgunder (which is not really a compliment).

Still this peppery Lakritz tinge. But less and less. The acidity and good tannins keep this going. After 1,5 hr decant.
After 2,5 hrs it is a proper north Rhône Syrah. Very nice wine.
Can easily go for another 5-6 years.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #033: Northern Rhône red (By JWS): Very tertiary and organic flavors with rust and soy. On the palate chocolate and soy, still ok acidity, but overall the wine is too old. Probably not a well stored bottle..? No score.
