Community Tasting Notes (4) Avg Score: 91.4 points

  • Pours with so much depth of purple that it's almost black. On the palate: a rich blackberry liquer with resiny plum, and smoky chocolate, with a tinge of chili pepper. This has powdery/chalky tannins that appear late. This wine is still developing and is better on day two, but the balance overall of this wine is quite perfect.

    Blend: 70% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 5% Petite Sirah, 3% Carignan, 2% Mourvedre

92.5 today, with room fore improvement

  • Deep aromas of blueberries, scorched earth and pepper. Concentrated on the palate with strong tannins and a suave, deeply fruit vibe (blueberries, black cherries). Laced with complex tones of smoy earth, pepper, beefy, clove – love it. There’s a ton going on here, this deserves five years and/or a solid decant. Syrah with 20% Grenache, 5% Petite Sirah, 3% Carignan, 2% Mourvedre.

  • 70/20/10 Syrah/Mourvedre/Grenache. Medium plus nose gives Rhone esque notes, funk, spice, black pepper, dark fruits. Palate is fresher, dark fruits, but the funk still there, dark layers, spice, some fresh herbal tones, lots of structure, high alcohol, medium plus tannins. Long finish does well.

  • One hour decant. Black & blue fruits. Some spiciness. Very good. Drink or hold.
