Bond: Boy is this a tight and stubborn monkey; a little awkwardness and wonky alcohol surfaced here, further distracting from the would-be flavors hoping to emerge on the delivery. Furry, flinty, and dusty, the Vecina has some red currant and sour cherry elements elbowing their ways to the palate, but in the end, this acts like an angry Right Bank that has just been bottled. A moving target with too many hard angles at the moment. Like all the 2018 Bonds, this is going to require a ton of time to figure itself out. 92-93+ points.

Smoke, flowers, peppery red fruits, cherries, and licorice are the first thing you notice. On the palate, the wine shows a beautiful sense of purity with ease. The fruit is pure silk in texture, seamlessly lingering on your palate. The only problem with wines like this is when the bottle is finished.

Black fruited, polished oak; the low-ish acid is really a problem.

3/7/2022 - MC2 Wines Likes this wine:
Return to Napa; 3/6/2022-3/13/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants): Higher tannin than a lot of the other wines. Black and blueberry. Again that great acid. Drinks very well.
