Comprised of 100% Syrah that was sourced from the Larner Vineyard in Ballard Canyon, 35% whole cluster fermented and aged for 20 months in French oak barriques (85% new), this deep crimson wine brims with dark bramble fruits, kirsch, rose petals, baking spices, lavender and licorice. Full-bodied, freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (14.8%), judiciously oaked and with abundant sweet tannins, it has excellent mid-palate density and a very long finish. This delicious red is firing on all cylinders! Tasted at the winery, I suspect that it would have been even more impressive had it received more aeration. Drink now-2033.
