Consistent with others’ notes. Golden color, aging nicely. A round, layered style of white, as one would expect for Roussanne and Chardonnay from barrel, yet has great freshness, doesn’t feel ponderous or cloying.
Drink or hold, probably best at cellar temperature.

Decanted 20 minutes before service. In the glass, clear, light-medium gold. On the nose, peaches, honeysuckle, and smoke. On the palate, a core of peach, plum, lemon, and honey, hinting at sweet fruit, before a wave of acidity, bolstered by oak, comes in to balance things out, and that balance is quite pleasing on the long, smooth finish. I wish I had a few more bottles of this.

Tasted at the winery. Very interesting barrel elevage Chard-Roussanne blend. Captures the honey and roundness of the Roussanne, then is brightened by the Chardonnay. Nicely aromatic with layers of interest on the palate.

Happy to be the first to review. Was dying to try this and it didn’t disappoint but it didn’t rise to the level of some of their other whites either. Shows a medium yellow straw in the glass, not too surprising. Nose has interesting elements of honey, sandalwood and white flowers. Still just a shade too much on the oak for my liking, so it really came across displaying more of the Chardonnay rather than the Rousanne (which would make it more interesting). Still, nice finish, great length, drank over two nights with consistent notes. I would actually lay this down for a few years, it will not hurt and likely bring out some more of the wonderful secondary elements that will add complexity over time.
