Tasted next to J. Lassalle 2007. 50% preferred the 1996 and 50% preferred the 2007.
Very old and oxidized aroma, notes of mushy apple, banana, baking spice, and lots of salted caramel. Very interesting flavor like applesauce with a squeeze of fresh lemon and a sprinkle of yeast. Initially some vinegar notes but that blew off after 15 minutes and then it was fantastic! Didn’t smell that great but tasted amazing. Ready to drink now, probably a little past peak.

I think this bottle was flawed and advanced, also showing sweetness.

Very pinot driven and just starting to round out in the mouth. Beautiful caramel-laced finish.

Blind Red Hot and Blue Wines: sweet citrusy sparkler with a toasty, yeasty nose. Decent
