Lots of notes on this wine. Drinking well now. Open tasted , vacuumed and left for a day. The second day this wine was more integrated. Starts with a slight plum nose. This has a beautiful sweetness, tastes of earthiness, plum, cherry, fig,and tobacco. Good length. Excellent wine that'll soften and exhibit more flavours with time. Comment about scoring...for me to score this at such a young age does not make any sense. This is built to age even thought for me it is reasonably accessible now.. If you like your wines young this may not be for you. If you have experience with this producer and are drinking this early to get an appreciation for how it will age and its current evolution then that makes sense to me. To critic this as not a good wine at this age seems harsh unless its flawed.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like raspberry, red currant, fig, prune, meaty, cedar and tar. It tastes like strawberry, blackberry, blueberry, tar, meaty, fig and prune. The body is medium. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

I was amazed at how ripe, concentrated and balanced this wine is. There is lots of ripe black cherries, blueberries, plums, blackberries, spices, sweet oak and chocolate. Both the high levels of alcohol and the generous oak are perfectly integrated and the wine hits the sweet spot between opulence, concentration, fruit, spice, oak, secondary and primary notes, hedonistic yet fresh fruit and mineral notes. Highly recommended.

Smoky cassis.
Ripe.
Obviously oaky.
Maybe 2 years ago I would have really liked this style.
I now prefer more subtlety.
Have always wanted to try this producer but probably won't seek it out anymore.
