PnP'ed. Served after the Sta Rita Hills PN. A very faint rose/cherry bouquet. Felt a bit heavier & serious on the palate than the SR Hills PN. Overall, I thought the SR Hills PN the more attractive wine...

Purchased by winemakers Sashi Moorman (former cook) and Rajat Parr (former sommelier) in 2014. They were featured in the documentary Somm3 for their Domaine de la Cote Pinot from Santa Rita Hills which they founded in 2013. They also own Sandhi, also in Santa Rita Hills. Pommard and Wädenswil vines planted in 1984. 10% whole cluster. Fermented in open-top concrete and oak vats. Indigenous yeasts. 12 months in neutral French oak and 7 months in concrete. Darker color than the Sandhi. Also a Burgundy earthy nose like the Sandhi, but more red fruit and acidity. Some spice. A lot like the Sandhi but with more vibrancy, acidity.

Medium ruby in the glass. Nose is tight, as well as the palate. Showing mostly green character with a bit of unripe fruit. High tannins and acidity masking most of the structure here. Leave this in the bottle for 1-2 years and revisit. Don't order in a restaurant haha!

Cranberry, fungi, light pepper, and a bit of funk. Grippy tannins. Very savory and seriously drinkable.
