17 towns in Cordoba. Albariza soil on top, then loam below. No rain May-Sept, so soil has to hold water like a sponge. 15% ABV, 25 years in Criaderas and Soleras systems. Rich and lifted raisin aromas. This s*** is ghastly. ‘Candied figs.’ Light tannin. Definitely a mechanism to delivery RAISIN on the palate. A touch of bitterness is a nice foil to all the sweet.
Did someone say ‘this pours like motor oil?’ Because, yes, it does.
To serve w/ Blue Cheese, Red Fruits, Chocolate, Acid.

Color like discarded engine oil, pours like treacle and sticks to the glass.. . On the nose an extract of dates and fig syrup, caramel, salty toffee and some acidity. a myriad of impressions… On palate very sweet and almost burning sensation. Goes on and on... I did prefer the "Noe" from Gonzalez which had more balancing acidity and the PX from Toro Albala which seemed to be a tad richer yet than this. But it's a very good wine all the same, and tasted very good with vanilla ice-cream. On re-tasting the wine after it has been opened for 10 days and kept in the fridge the lack of complexity and freshness in the wine becomes more obvious. there is definitively something lacking. Score goes now down to 90.

Wow, unbelievable weight! This is rich almost to the point of syrup, but manages to pull it off. baked fruit, compote, spice and nutty goodness, this is a pretty compelling sweet PX. Awesome price.

Icon Wines Of Spain (WSET, London): Iodine core, green rim. Figgy, raisined deep savoury total sweetness; monumentally long and gloopy.
