Slightly reductive with lemon, lemon pie, flinty, toast almond. Unexpectedly intense on the palate with orchard fruit (slightly unripe), gentle oak. Medium+(+) acidity, long finish. Has it seen lees? From a vineyard at 950m height. Slightly out of balance with the acidity (though I like my wines with serious acidity). 89-90

Grand Cru Chardonnay (The four seasons hotel, the rocks, sydney): Peachy fruit, struck match, a little lime note, butter, backed by dusty sweet spices. Pronounced acidity makes everything rather pointy and this, with some bitter savouriness, rather ruins the palate. Nah.
