Burgundy 2002 Horisontal Tasting (@ Terkel): Primary nose with sweet strawberries and a little vanilla. Intense palate with strawberries but also an impressive acidity. Long and fresh aftertaste and it it seems to have surplus of energy. The acidity is really impressive as is the wine itself!!

Still drinking extremely nicely. Cherry and baking spice flavors. Doesn't seem quite as rich as a previous bottle, but still med-full bodied and elegant. Probably starting to decline, but ...

Opened and poured with dinner ... Deep red color. Light nose of red fruits. Rich and full-bodied. Great flavors of cherries and spice. Very well integrated with fully resolved tannins. While I enjoyed earlier bottles, this has evolved into a special wine. When my wife tasted it, she asked if we had a lot of it. All I could answer is "We did ...". Still have one left, and hope it tastes close to this one.

Super deep red opaque color. Clean, bright nose of cherries and cola. A big and extracted wine with a medium-full body. Made in modern CA style, but with some full-cluster stuff thrown in for interest! Dark fruits and coffee on the palate, with loads of structure, showing smooth tannins on the finish. A really nice bottle of wine, and for the price, a great deal. MUCH better than the 2001 vintage.

(Melville Pinot Noir Estate) Very dark cherry red color; intriguing, sous bois, tart cranberry, rosehips nose; a little backward, tight, meaty and chewy, rosehips, saline, tart cranberry palate; medium-plus finish (would be great with medium rare steak)

WCC California Pinot Noir Blind Tasting II (Milestone Restaurant, Glenmont, NY): Some red fruit and Burgundy stones in the nose. Appealing sour cherry in the mouth. Very short finish keeps it from being very good. A Burgundy ringer?
