  • Intense nose of citrus oil and lemon zest, with hints of mandarin, anise, cereal and almond paste. Oak still fairly prominent. The palate is succulent, but intense, tangy and saline, very coiled and focused. Not much fruit showing beyond citrus oil. Some light floral notes emerging with time in the glass. 93-94 point potential, but far too young at this stage. 91+

  • Tight. Pixellated acid which is a funny thing to say as I reserve that for tannin description but here it seemed apt. Almost a prockly palate sensation. Alcohol heat detectable. Great potential I feel but please put away in the coldest darkest part of your cellar for 5-10 years.

  • Slow ox. Nice nose, minerality, slight touch of oak, very balanced. Palate has some warmth, but is not overly ripe. Just missing some zip and sexiness you want from MP. At the price point you can't really complain though.

  • Good, but disappointing for the vineyard (and the price). The fruit is surprisingly light and pale with some straw-like sensations a bit reminiscent of a champagne without bubbles, with a sharp citrusy acidity and a slight aromatic hint of pie spice, which is the only vestige of the barrels. But I expect (and want) Perrieres to have that profile so packed with minerals it's tactile or even has a sense of solidity, and there's very little of that here, maybe just a small bit that seizes up on the back end. Maybe it will turn into something in the cellar. I don't know. At least it has a Diam cork going for it, which is nice.
