  • Drank half bottle last night and no formal note other than to say that Rubanski had it right that the reductive Brett notes do indeed blow off with air (I would say quite a lot of air). Left a small glass out overnight and found all reductive notes gone leaving very healthy fruit (not oxidized in the least) and silky smooth, tart cherry palate. Yum.

  • Thibault is consciously looking for a hint of reduction in his wines, which is present here, but very well controlled. Has a very expressive nose, yet have a feeling it’s not showing it’s true potential. Earth, game, wild strawberries, cranberry and a hint of smoke. The palate is juicy & fruit forward, this is a very approachable Pinot even though tannins have not reached complete ripeness yet. I would say it is still removed from its peak and could be there in a year or 2.

  • One year later, this wine shows even better than last year. Aeration for an hour and it shows nice powerful cherry and earth on the palate. Almonds and strawberry on the nose. A really nice acidity and tannins that is more intergrated then last year. I would say this drinks now and a couple of years ahead. Close to 90p imo.

  • This is a really well made wine with dark berry, cherry and sandalwood notes on the nose. Opens to reveal a nice earthy element in the palate and excellent weight. Where some entry level wines these days are thin, and overly acid driven, this is weighty and retains serious freshness.

Remains one of my favorite Bourgogne rouge.
