  Toasted marshmallow, blackberry, jam, and white pepper - an interesting combo and another owen roe pleasure.

  Light garnet color, notes of crushed stones, leather, and vanilla. Not a lot of fruits on the palate but very balanced.

  A decent wine, but far overshadowed by the 3 single vineyard blends from 2015 we enjoyed prior. The Ex Umbris just couldn't hold a candle to those bruisers. Much thinner and more acidic, with a completely different flavor profile: Plum, cigar tobacco, hints of smoke and bacon. Drink now - 2029.
