13% alcohol. CS 60%, M 40% in the vineyard. The cork is of good quality, very dense if not that long, and penetrated over no more than 2mm. Decanted an hour ahead. Dense colour with some fading at the edge of the rim. The nose is classic Médoc with dark berries underlaid by discreet notes of oak. The mouth is juicy and energetic with vibrant fruit; good grip but no harsh tannins. A textbook northern Médoc with plenty of life left in it, and a repeat purchase in appropriate vintages.

13% alcohol. Good cork with little wine penetration. Decanted for an hour; the bottle was on the cold side due to lack of foresight on my part. Dark colour with no fading except at the edge of the rim. Lively harmonious nose with red berries and traces of confectionery. The mouth is satisfying, with good fruit, refreshing acidity and some St. Estèphe bite in the finish. Not voluptuous like the 2003, but that's vintage variation for you. A repeat purchase, especially in ripe vintages.
