(Féraud-Brunel Côtes du Rhône Villages) Not often do two of the top wine families in a region come together to create a winery and a perfect partnership. Here, we have two celebrated Châteauneuf-du-Pape producers: Laurence Féraud, known for Domaine du Pégaü, and André Brunel, who makes the brilliant Les Cailloux. Their wines are crafted in a traditional style, with the same care and focus as at the two families’ own estates. The vineyard responsible for this lively, reasonably priced, Grenache-based Côtes du Rhône Villages is owned and farmed by Brunel. It is perfect as a delicious glass pour or in the sweet spot of the wine list. Hot Picks

As expected this is aging well, still has that earthy, plum skin smell, bright acid holds up a palate full of dried cherry, herbs, raspberry jam and smoke, in a complex and utterly delicious state right now, it was worth the time in the cellar, but now it is time to pop them open

Very good. Decanted for several hours. Rich, full full wine. A bit of earth on the nose. Plenty of life left.
