Fantastic Rioja. High acidity, and an alcohol level of 14.5%. Intense anise, eucalyptus, and menthol flavor on the long finish- brisk and punchy rather than broad.

Very dark, almost inky, for a RR and the nose suggested what was to come which was something of a brooding monster with only hints of smoky barbecue and distant sweetness of vanilla oak. On the palate, the presence of over-extraction was pronounced, this is very much a food wine and for us not your average RR. Still intriguing and could well mellow nicely in time. Drunk at Mirlo in La Caleta, Tenerife.

Five Course Wine Pairing at Blackberry Farm - The Barn (The lovely East Tennessee mountains): Wine pairing at Blackberry Farm - The Barn. Dark ruby red. Expressive red fruit nose nose with maple, mint and a bit of barnyard. Good amount of tannin - super dry. Needs food. Good pairing with ham wrapped quail. Brad - heavypourwine.com

Bright red colour,
Dried fruit, figs, ripe, big tobacco style, supple, showing some lovely mature notes. Very nice. Sturdy. Years left in here.

Drank at a restaurant, not full notes. Earthy, leathery aromas and tart, warm red fruits.
