Brilliant Diamond mountain wine to start off the campaign this week. Took about 2 hours to open. It’s a powerhouse, very structured, bold, and masculine! Incredible nose of dark roasted fruits, spicy oak, spices, pepper and toasty vanilla wafers. Assertive on the palate, sautéed berries, with graphite, tobacco and earthy minerality. Tannins are chewy and finish is long. Great wine for a ‘17. I’m buying more! Cheers 🍷

What a wine. Abundance of graphite, lead, flint, crushed pebbles and spices form the Herculean backbone. Dark dark red and opaque. Very bold and structured, balanced doses of dark fruits in between the graphite notes and cool minerals on the palate. Mouth watering acidity and tongue drying tannins that slowly resolve after a 5 hour decant. This will Get even better in few years. Incredible bottle!

Wine just at the beginning of its drinking window. Great deep dark red color. Well balanced, great dark fruits and already hints of graphite and light pencil lead. Will just get better over the next couple of years and I think could be a powerhouse in a couple of years

Tasted at Checkerboard w/ Gary Carman the man. At this stage, I enjoyed the nose of this the most, and we tasted the entire lineup. Quite graphite, with dark berries and good structure. Nice length already!

A bit young, but shining after 2 hour decant. Fine tannins and a long finish. This will age well but drinks very nicely young.
