  • One hour decant. Deep dark ruby color. Red currant, anise, blackberry, and maple syrup on the nose. Dry, velvety palate, with granular, tongue coating acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

This is not quite in it’s drinking window. It’s beautiful, but very youthful at the moment. Had this at Cole’s Chop House in Napa (with a terrific steak).

  • Deep ruby colored. Intense nose with dark cherries, ripe blackberries, soft licorice and violets. On the palate it’s very expressive too - but it’s not overdone and the alcohol is integrated nicely. Ripe dark cherries, blackberries, fresh plum, some dark chocolate and soft vanilla notes. Tannins are quite grippy and not fully integrated yet. Great complexity and depth. Needs some more time to balance out completely. The finish is long and very savory.
It’s surprisingly open for such a young Napa Cab. If you don’t want to wait any longer just give it a shot right now but make sure to give it a proper decanting. I suggest to wait a little longer and drink it from 2025 onwards. It will definitely get more interesting with some more age. (IG)

  • No notes. Need to taste again with a decant as this was PnP. Both the wines need real time to open and soften. Need to try both again. 92+
