The last ever Merry Edwards Klopp! A long term favorite, it doesn’t disappoint with its more reserved nose, good acidity and balanced tannins. Not a massive finish but very elegant. Tasted at winery

Blackberry, coffee, tar, cocoa; high acidity; high alcohol; juicy and fruit driven; could have been mistaken for a southern Rhone Syrah; tasted at winery

The nose displays a great depth of range, from cherry compote to blackberry jam to black currant to cassis and licorice. On the palate its medium in stature with bright, juicy acid and modest, barely grainy tannin. The flavor profile includes a range of black and red fruit, including blackberry, strawberry, acai, and red currant, plus black pepper, clove, and black tea leaf. This is quite tasty now, though I can see it improving over the next three to five years, and then riding high for another five.
A solid core of ruby. The aromas are so fresh, with ripe cherries, pomegranate, strawberry, backed up by pepper, roses, warm clay, rhubarb, and a lot of floral depth with air. On the palate, this is silky but structured, with zesty acid, great balance, and a deep but tangy mix of cherry, pomegranate and raspberry fruit. Elements of thyme, pepper, dried rose petals, clove, dusty earth. The mouthfeel is fantastic, but this needs at least a few years to show its best. Aged nine months in 69% new French oak.

Structurally this is advanced for its age
