Dark ruby. Intense- nose of blackberries, dark plum, some red cherries, cinnamon, licorice, whiff of violets, garrigue, slight tobacco, some vanilla, oak.
Palate similar. The Les Cassagnes by La Nerthe is a deep, dark & juicy CdR with powerful fruit and some structure.
Paired well with a spicy home made Pasta Bolognese.
Full body, medium- acidity, medium- tannins.

Might be bottle variation (this one had a very weak cork) but I found this quite boring, dominated by everyday Grenache characteristics. No real faults or off flavours, pleasant enough but lacking in interest on acidity, tannic structure or flavours. Some blueberry, red fruit, a bit of menthol. Smooth but dull. Or perhaps I've gone off entry level Southern Rhone.

Great color. The nose shows aromas of dark berries, garrigue, minerals and a hint of pepper. This is medium full bodied on the way with very good concentration and good class. The medium plus length finish features slightly rustic tannins.

Restaurant pnp in CdP. Heavier on fruit than tannins but an enjoyable (and value oriented) accompaniment to dinner after tasting through the entire Janasse portfolio w Juliette late this afternoon.
