  • This wine is very interesting. It starts a bit too acidic for my taste. But by the second glass, it’s delicious. The minerality comes through with the floralness of the Sauvignon dlowing through to a very balanced finish. It goes well with both oysters or withight cheese.

  • From a jeroboam

pilatus88 said it all, although his note dates from more than a year ago. The words filigrain acidity could be added. not loud at all

  • Unfortunately, I blinded this as a chard. A cool-climate CA chard, at that. I guess that goes to show exactly how much experience I have with serious Loire Sauv Blanc, even with tons of NZ and US experience. For me, Sauv Blanc was one of the first grapes I *ruled out*, and as such I barely feel qualified to rate this- purely in the abstract, it wasn't unreal QPR for me but still really, really good for the price, and I often consider this grape a "budget" choice.

Got lots of gentle lemon bar type aromas, powdery and chalky but not at all the kind of pungent citrus I associate with the grape. Far more understated, minerally but also rich with suggestions of cream or even vanilla. This is crazy to me, considering the wine sees no oak at all, and I doubt it goes through Malolactic Fermentation although I don't know for sure. Smelled rich enough to evoke an elegant style of CA chard, not even a Chablis! Same on the palate- plenty of rich citrus, ripe without being overbearing, lots of chalky/powdery mineral accents, bright acidity that didn't feel needlessly tart. It wasn't ultra-expressive at this stage, but still a really beautiful wine that threw me for a serious loop.
