Nose of sandalwood, cassis, and faint hints of wet stone and floral notes.
Front palate of cassis and licorice with soft graceful tannins carrying just a bit of grip. Mid palate of tobacco, and blackberry. Warming finish of raspberry, chocolate and baking space. Rounding acidity. Very pleasant wine.

Hugely concentrated, but its youth revealed by a disjointed profile with the oak sneaking through the signature smoky sandalwood and black plum and dried black cherry. Every reason to believe that this will come together in a few years.

This is a great wine at this price point. Lots of juicy black and blue fruits, floral subtle spice. Good mid palate weight, smooth round tannins and well integrated oak. Lots of finesse. Enjoyable now but has the structure to age well.

Spicy black cherries, smoke, flowers, cigar box, dark red fruits and espresso bean shine with ease in the perfume. Elegant, fresh, vibrant and refined, the wine is medium-bodied, lifted and ends with ample minerality and dark chocolate covered plums on the backend that keep on going. This could be the finest vintage of Franc Mayne ever produced. Drink from 2024-2045.

St. Emilion Grand Cru Classés Walkaround tasting, so just short notes (Amsterdam): 100% Merlot. Cherries, red and dark berries, juicy acidity, some green notes. Much too young and sticky tannin. Probably wise to wait until 2030 at least. 91 – 92+
